Handmade in the UK from solid steel, the Talisman estate gates feature a heavy-duty construction consisting of 40mm x 30mm flat bar steel hanging stiles, 40mm x 20mm closing stiles and cross rails together with 16mm round metal infill bars for optimum levels of strength, rigidity, and performance. Included with the gates are surface mounted adjustable hinges, latch mechanism which can be secured with a padlock and an in-ground drop bolt to ensure the gates remain in the correct position when closed. Supplied with the metal surfaces primed black (undercoat) as standard and should be painted with a minimum of 2 coats of high-quality exterior grade paint prior to installation to ensure proper levels of protection against rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width: To establish the size to order simply measure the distance between existing brickwork or masonry structure. Once you have established this dimension you should match this with one of the size options shown within the drop-down menu. No other calculations are required because the "fits opening" already includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch.

• Height: The “height once fitted” includes an allowance of 50mm (2”) for ground clearance and is measured from the ground to the top of the horizontal frame. The finials above this are not included within the measurement.

Ordering Example

If the size of the opening between brick pillars measures 15ft you should order the gates to “fit an opening" of 15ft”.

Do you Need to Install Metal Posts?

If these are required, you should choose the appropriate size posts from the options and accessories menu shown above. When doing so it is important to remember that additional space will be necessary.

Example – Gates to fit an opening of 9ft 6” combined with 2 x 6” posts will require a total overall space of10ft 6”.
