The Royale Premier Wrought Iron Style Side Gate is handmade in the UK using ultra heavy-duty steel components to ensure superior strength and rigidity at a relatively affordable price. With a distinct appearance, the gate features numerous decorative design elements, including an archtop, large central motif, wrought iron style scrollwork, fleur-de-lys finials and dog bars in the bottom section. The Royale Premier design is built with a 40mm x 30mm hanging stile, 40mm x 10mm cross rails, and 16mm solid metal infill bars for enhanced security. The gate is simple to install and includes adjustable hinges and a sliding latch mechanism. It is supplied primed black (undercoat) as standard ready for painting to the colour of your choice before installation.

Ordering Sizes

• Width: Measure the gap between existing walls or posts to determine the ordering size. You do not need to make any other calculations because the "fits opening" size shown in the drop-down menu already includes the space required for the hinges and latch.

• Height: The "Height (once installed)" measurement includes an allowance of 50mm (2") for ground clearance. This is measured from the floor to the top of the horizontal framework (it does not include the finials on the top rail). You should also be conscious that the 1000mmm wide gate measures 6′ 6" (1.98m) high when hung. However, because of the shape of the arch, the 1070mm width will be a little higher, and the 920mm width will be slightly shorter.

Example

If the gap size between existing walls measures 1070mm, you will need to order the gate to "fit opening 1070mm".

Do you need to Install Metal Gate Posts? 

If there is no existing support structure in place to attach the hinges and latch, you will need to install metal posts. If these items are required, please remember that you will need additional space to be available to accommodate these items.

Example – A gate to fit an opening of 1070mm combined with 2 x 100mm posts will need an overall space of 1270mm.
