Ordering Sizes

• Width: Measure the opening between walls or pre-existing posts. This measurement will be the size you need to order. Our "fits opening" measurement already includes the space required for the hinges and latch; therefore, you should make no other calculations.

• Height: The "physical height" measurement does not include the space we recommend for ground clearance. When installing the gate, 50mm (2") should be allowed between the underside of the frame and the finished floor level.

Example

If the existing opening between brick walls is 838mm (2ft 9"), you will need to order a gate to "fit opening 838mm (2ft 9)".

Do You Need to Install Metal Gate Posts?

You will need to order metal posts for freestanding installations without an existing support structure in place. Please note that the posts will take up additional space, so this must be factored in when selecting the size to order.

Example – A gate to fit an opening of 3ft combined with 2 x 2" posts will require an overall space of 3ft 4".
