Ordering Sizes

• Width: To calculate the size of the opening, measure the distance between the walls or existing posts. This measurement will be the size you need to order. No further allowances are necessary since our "fits opening" measurement in the options menu already includes the space required for the hinges and latch.

• Height: The "fitted height" is the size of the gates after they have been installed and includes a 50mm allowance for ground clearance (2"). The distance is measured from the ground to the top of the horizontal framework. This measurement doesn't include the topmost scrollwork above this.

Example

If the gap between existing posts or brick pillars is 8ft 6", the gates should be ordered to "fit opening 8ft 6".

Is it Necessary to Install Metal Posts? 

When metal posts are required (due to a lack of walls or pillars), you must consider the additional space needed for these items.

Example – Gates to fit an opening of 8ft 6" combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 8ft 10".
