Width: Measure the opening between your walls or existing posts. This dimension will be the size you need to order. The "fits opening" size displayed in the menu above already comprises the space needed for the hinges and latch; thus, you must make no other calculations.

Height: The "fitted height" represents the height of the gate once it has been installed. This includes an allocation of 50mm (2") for ground clearance. It is measured from floor level to the top of the framework.
Example
If the brickwork opening size is 3ft 3", you should order a gate that "fits opening 3ft 3".
Do You Need Metal Gate Posts?
If you need metal posts, remember that you will need additional room for these items.
Example – A garden gate to fit an opening of 3ft 3" combined with 2 x 2" posts will need an overall space of 3ft 7".
