The Marlborough double gates are made of 20mm x 8mm flat bar steel frames, 10mm infill bars, and 10mm x 3mm ornate wrought iron type scrolls and are available to buy online in a variety of sizes. They have surface mounted adjustable hinges to facilitate levelling when fitting, a simple latch mechanism, and a drop bolt for simplicity of installation. Ordering Sizes

• Width: To determine the size of the aperture, measure the space between the walls or existing posts. This measurement will be the size you need to order. Our "fits opening" measurement in the menu already includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch, so no further allowances are required.

• Height: The "fitted height" is the height of the gates after it has been installed and includes a 50mm (2") provision for ground clearance. This distance is calculated from the ground to the top of the horizontal framework. This measurement does not include the upper scrollwork above this.

Example

If the opening width between walls is 9ft 6” you should select the gates that “fits opening” 9ft 6”.

Do You Need to Install Metal Posts?

For installations without an existing support structure in place you will need to use metal posts. If these items are required, please remember additional space will be required.

Example – Gates to fit an opening of 9ft 6" combined with 2 x 2" posts will require a total overall space of 9ft 10".
