The Clifton Arched Wrought Iron Style Metal Side Gate features a traditional arch top and decorative scrollwork making it a great option for any property owner looking for a timeless appearance at a very competitive online price. Handmade in the UK, the gate is available to order in a selection of sizes and benefits from surface mounted adjustable hinges to aid levelling during installation. Suitable for mounting direct to existing brickwork, metal or timber posts the Clifton design is manufactured using 20mm x 8mm solid flat bar frames, 10mm round infill bars and 10mm x 3mm scrollwork. Included with the gate is a universal latch which enables left or right hand hanging. Supplied as standard primed black (undercoat), the gate should be painted with a high-quality exterior grade paint prior to installation to prevent the onset of rust and corrosion.

Ordering Sizes

• Width: To calculate the ordering size, measure the distance between walls or posts. Make no other adjustments because the "fits opening" dimension displayed in the drop-down menu already includes the space necessary for the hinges and latch.

• Height: The "Height (once installed)" measurement is taken from the ground to the top of the arch. This dimension already includes an allowance of 50mm (2”) for ground clearance.

Example

If the gap size between brickwork measures 1070mm you should order a gate to “fit opening 1070mm”.

Do You Require Posts? 

When metal posts are necessary to install the gate (due to a lack of sufficient masonry or support structure), you'll need to make sure there's enough room for these items.

Example – A gate to fit an opening of 1070mm combined with 2 x 50mm posts will need an overall space of 1170mm.
